Sabre Awards STEM Scholarship to Ye Tao

Ye TaoSabre  is pleased to announce that Mr. Ye Tao, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHS) in Alexandria, Va., was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship to The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in recognition of his outstanding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) accomplishments.

Mr. Tao was presented with his award on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at TJHS by Paul Korkemaz, Sabre’s Group Vice President of the National Capital Region. According to Korkemaz, “[Ye] represents all of the great qualities of a STEM student; namely, a demonstrated passion for involvement in various technical projects and a desire to achieve his goals. I am confident Ye will contribute to society through his future STEM work.”

The Sabre STEM scholarship program was launched earlier this year in an effort help steer students into these curriculum by helping reduce the financial barriers to attend college.  Sabre will award a total of six $1,000 non-renewable scholarships to deserving students in locations where the company has a major presence.
